In anticipation of Star Trek: Beyond, RTW is heading back to 2009 for a special bonus episode to revisit J.J. Abrams’ big old reboot of the Star Trek franchise, and boy oh boy, do we have a lot to say on this subject! We’ll be diving into all the things we love and all the many things that drive us nuts about this film, as Trek fans. Plus, we’re weighing in on modern blockbuster movie tropes, awful sexist Hollywood trends, our Leonard Nimoy memories, Simon Pegg movies we all need to see and we’re also talking about how this movie stacks up against a couple of other pioneering Star Trek films that came before it. All in all, we’re having a blast, and we hope you will too.
