Reopening the Wormhole is a weekly podcast in which three Deep Space Nine obsessives tackle a randomly selected episode from the series and analyze all the things they love and hate about it. Each week, they'll try to determine the funniest lines out of context, deliver their very official review scores and much more! Make sure to stick around until the end, so you don't miss it when they spin the Dabo wheel to reveal next week's episode!

Featuring Jack Stovold, Sam Stovold and Kevin Young

What would you sacrifice to save someone you love? How much would your life change if you were never able to gain closure through grieving for departed loved ones? These questions and more are at the heart of The Visitor. It’s been hailed as the greatest Star Trek episode by some, and canonized by Deep Space Nine and television fans alike, and with good reason. Just like Old Man Jake did with his dad in this episode, Old Man Kevin manages to save Jack & Sam from being unstuck from time by making a noble sacrifice, and then they’re all joined by fan favorite Amos Dunn to gush about how gorgeous and damn near perfect this episode is, careening from pure silliness to deep, heartfelt emotion at the drop of a hat, in classic RTW fashion. And, also like just about any great episode of RTW, look for many musical interludes, both old and new.
